I’m a Do-er, Go-Getter, Dreamer, and Freedom Seeker.
If I can think it up, dream it up, I will eventually want to live it up! I will always bet on myself! At times I don’t see the whole picture, just barely the next step; regardless I always move forward. I’ve failed many times, I’ve had to self-reflect, ask the hard questions, I’ve endured hardships and unwanted circumstances for multiple seasons in order to achieve my successes. I’m all about living and experiencing life! I aim to empower individuals in order to create positive change within their own life that can be paid forward into the lives of others! It doesn’t matter where you’re at or if you don’t have all of the answers; you can start moving towards where you want to be NOW.
I was born and raised in Waco, TX; the youngest of seven from a blended family. In a snapshot, as long as I can remember I always knew I wanted to be an Olympian when I grew up. From Kindergarten through 12th grade I was known as the fastest girl in school. I ran Track & Field for Texas Tech University and acquired two Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting & General Business.
After my collegiate career I pursued my childhood dream of becoming an Olympian onto the professional scene. That journey proved to be one that last for 10 years yielding many adversities and victories. Through my experience I represented the United States of America in the 2011, 2013, and 2014 World Championships along with obtaining a Silver Medal in 2013 and National Championship Title in 2014. During this time I started Polk Apparel, an athletic-wear company that manufacturers uniforms for a variety of sports.
None of my growth or true successes were obtained until I owned all responsibility of what I wanted and not only did that include the good things, but more importantly the bad things and the things that didn’t go as I would have liked. Most importantly my journey and experience taught me how to Walk by Faith, Expect the Unexpected, Adapt Quickly, Plan for Success, Work Smarter Not Harder, Keep a Solid Circle of Support. It taught me Self-Accountability, Self-Reflection, Patience, and that if there’s a Will there’s a Way.
After retiring in 2016 I’ve started a new discovery process of constantly evolving towards the best version of myself. A path of creating and experiencing a life I enjoy! I look forward to getting to know you! Connect with me!
